Equal
Access For All Illinois ATV Permit
CrossBows
are legal for physically Challenged Individuals!
If you enjoy visiting the
National Forests but have had physical limitations due to a disability, you may now
qualify for a special use permit which would allow the use of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV)
on the Shawnee National Forest. A state of Illinois 1A or 2A disability identification
card or equivalent from another state is required for obtaining an ATV access permit.
Contact one of the five
locations shown below for more information concerning an ATV access permit. The permit is
valid for the use of an ATV one year from the date of issue but is not valid for jeeps or
4-wheel drive trucks. One assistant with an ATV may accompany the permittee and must stay
within hailing distance of the permittee. A permit is not required for the assistant.
