New Regulations for Physically Challenged Use of Crossbows in Colorado

The Colorado Division of Wildlife has adopted a new and more liberalized policy of approving the use of a crossbow as a disability rights accommodation during archery season.
In Colorado, DOW now gives special crossbow permits to archers it deems sufficiently disabled. The application for the permit must include certification of the disability by a licensed physician or registered occupational or physical therapist.
A growing number of people were applying for permission to use crossbows in archery season, so the DOW reviewed its policy last summer. It decided to
expand opportunities. The permits are free.

The DOW is organizing information about the new policy and all of its policies regarding disabled hunters, and plans to have it posted by the end of February on its website.
