Hunt for Youth Age 12-17 Years Old

Al Lamovec of (a yet to be named) CAMP and Dale Petkovsek of SUNSET PINES RESORT are teaming together to offer a unique and exciting opportunity for disabled young adults to enjoy the outdoors in west-central Wisconsin. Al's goal is to offer quality guided hunting experiences to young adults ages 12 - 17 who are disabled; come from families of low to moderate income, that normally can not afford such options; and have a desire to pursue Whitetail Deer or Turkey with rifle, bow or muzzleloader.  "The camp" is two hundred acres of gentle rolling woods and field. Whitetail Deer and Turkey thrive in the mature hardwood forest and adjacent agricultural lands.   Trails, blinds and food plots are designed and constructed with the disabled in mind. A cozy comfortable chalet with kitchen and accessible bathroom facilities is the central meeting spot for the camp.

The cost of the hunt's are not set yet but will be very affordable. Transportation and licenses will be the responsibility of the hunter or sponsoring organization or club. Accessible lodging will be available through near-by Sunset Pines Resort , which offers yet another exceptional recreational encounter. With fully accessible cabins, available pontoon for fishing on a local public hot spot or it's own stocked 4.75 acre private lake with a beach and gorgeous surroundings to relax and enjoy.

Wisconsin's Deer/Archery season runs from approximately September 15 - November 12 and again from December 1 - January 3. Crossbows are legal with W.D.N.R. approval permit and licenses are available over the counter. Deer/Gun season starts the Saturday before Thanksgiving through the Sunday after.  Resident Archery or Gun licenses are $20.00 each and non-residents are $135.00 each. Spring Turkey season begins on the second Wednesday of April with six consecutive five-day periods.

Al and Dale are wondering if there are enough young disabled adults interested in an adventure like this?  They are formulating plans right now looking for input, level of desire and suggestions from hunter's, clubs, organizations or individual's that are or know of 12 - 17 year old disabled people.   Please immediately contact Al & Katherine Lamovec at 1-715-720-1148 or alkay@voyager.net or Dale Petkovsek at 1-715-267-6989 or www.sunsetpinesresort.com
