Yamaha 2007 Rhino 660
and Rhino 450 Automatic Side-Side Vehicles
The
Yamaha Rhino 660 and Rhino 450 Automatic Side-by-Side (SxS)
vehicles may be categorized as “utility vehicles” but
just get behind the wheel or buckle into the passenger
seat to see it’s much more than a simple workhorse.
Rhino SxS vehicles function at a high capacity as a work
or leisure vehicle on the farm, ranch or in the most
remote back-woods hunting areas.

Reliability and off-road capability are two important
features on every Rhino SxS. The Rhino is a proven,
nimble machine, able to traverse the same terrain as an
ATV, and with the industry’s only 3-point seat belt that
holds both driver and passenger snug into their bucket
seats. Adding to the Rhino’s terrainability is the
Yamaha exclusive On-Command® push button 2WD/4WD system
with differential lock, which gives the driver options
when it comes to matching machine to terrain. Fully
adjustable, and fully-independent, the front and rear
dual A-arm suspension offers more than 7.3” of travel.
Combine that with the 12.1” of ground clearance and
there’s practically nothing that the Rhino can’t
tackle.
Getting the Rhino up and at ‘em is as easy as turning
the ignition key, while choosing the best gear for your
adventure is done with the automotive-style gear shifter
located on the center console. Yamaha’s ultra-reliable
Ultramatic® automatic transmission system transfers the
power to the wheels and then to the trail, all you have
to do is get on the gas pedal.
The
Ultramatic system keeps constant tension on the drive
belt to avoid unnecessary wear and tear as well as
eliminate “freewheeling,” which is sometimes felt on
other machines. The result is industry leading
all-wheel engine braking – a must when heading down
steep hills with a full load.
When it comes to braking duties, at your service is the
automotive-style brake pedal controlling twin piston,
dual hydraulic discs up front and a shaft-mounted,
self-adjusting hydraulic disc in the rear. If you plan
on staying awhile, the easy-to-operate parking brake
located on the center console is willing and able to
keep you put.
The
digital LCD multi-function display meter features a
speedometer, odometer, dual trip meter, hour meter,
clock, fuel gauge and gear position display. Of course,
with a 7.9 gallon fuel tank, you will surely be more
focused on enjoying the day-long ride than watching your
gas gauge.
